Here at Brown Paper Festival we are all about the craft … I’m most definitely a serial crafter with too many projects on the go to mention! This is an important part of the market for me, I want to bring the joy of making to you! So whether you are a beginner crafter who wants to learn or a seasoned maker who just wants to add another string to your bow this is for you.
I’m so happy to be launching 3 amazing workshops run by talented makers … each one will be run online and you’ll be supplied with all the materials you’ll need! Have a read and decide which one (or more!) takes your fancy…

Learn Mindful Macrame

Jane from mindful.macrame will be hosting an online beginner’s workshop to create a boho styled macrame wall-hanging in your choice of colour. Choose from natural, blush, mustard, grey, peacock blue, laurel green and coffee. A colour chart will be sent to you once you’ve booked so you can choose your colour!
Jane will be delighted to prepare and post out an attractively packaged kit to your home ahead of the workshop and will be there on the day to demonstrate, guide, assist and chat with you.
It’s a wonderfully relaxing craft that you’ll find so satisfying and will be unable to resist doing it again and again! You need no previous experience and it’s great for the beginner crafters amongst us…
The cost of the workshop will be £35 for each individual.

Make your own Kokedama
Join Renée AKA The Girl who Gardens to make 2 beautiful Japanese Kokedama to display indoors and bring a unique way of displaying some beautiful plants in your home.  It’s fun, therapeutic, mindful and creative. The art of Kokedama literally translates from the Japanese “koke” meaning moss and “dama” meaning ball.

In this 1 hour workshop Renée will show you how to mould and bind your 2 Kokedama using the kit that you will have been sent prior to the event. In addition all you’ll need is a bowl and some water, gloves if you wish and a work surface you don’t mind getting messy!

In your kit you’ll receive 2 Houseplants, sheet moss, compost, twine and enough mossing pins to make 2 Kokedama.  The Workshop will be offered via Zoom on 19th September (time tbc) and we will record the session and send you the link so you can refer back to it.

It is £40 per person and will include everything detailed above!
